The ENi-1 electrode is crafted from a pure nickel core wire, offering a chemical composition ideal for weldability. It delivers a deposit with excellent strength and ductility, which is crucial for accommodating different rates of expansion and contraction. The mechanical properties typically show a tensile strength of around 70 ksi, with good elongation. This combination allows the weld metal to remain crack-resistant, even when joining dissimilar metals or dealing with challenging base materials like cast iron.
